Formed in 1946, the Mississippi Cattlemen's Association (MCA) represents the interests of our state's cattle producers. Since its early days, MCA has continued to grow and has seen tremendous accomplishments in many areas. MCA was instrumental in establishing the Dixie National Livestock Show, Agricultural & Livestock Theft Bureau and led the effort to pass one of the first beef labeling laws in the U.S. For the past 20 years, MCA has sponsored one of the nation's largest junior cattlemen's associations with an annual summer leadership camp as well as the scholarship program that, last year, awarded $65,000 to the children and grandchildren of its members. With 3,200 members spread across 67 county cattlemen's associations, the organization serves its members with educational programs, a monthly magazine and a weekly electronic newsletter.
